Eggshell Planters
I found this environmentally friendly gardening idea off of Coastal Environmental Partnership's (CEP) blog, here. It's simple! Just "use empty eggshells for sprouting seedlings, then compost the whole set-up when you're done." (CEP)
ENVIRONMENT
There's no need to speculate what millions of Christian families will be doing tomorrow; as part of tradition, most families will celebrate Christmas by exchanging gifts. As a result, a familiar melody of sounds will be played. You know? The lovely sound of wrapping paper being demolished. "Rip, [crush], toss. Rip, [crush], toss. It's a Christmas
ritual for most families. Rip open the presents, crumple the pretty paper
into a ball, toss it in a big trash bag and haul it out to the curb, where it
eventually disappears in the back of a garbage truck." (Landwehr, 2006)
As a woman who cares about mother earth and the children that occupy it I urge you to recycle. Instead, of allowing the garbage man to take your bags of wrapping paper, leave it for the recycling crew. Until next time...
Merry Christmas
